about

Brooklet, GA is the exemplary small town with a true “main street” where many businesses are located. The beauty of living in Brooklet is that all conveniences are in very close proximity. You can literally walk, or take a golf cart, to the doctor’s office and the drug store next door. The bank is also right in the middle of the downtown area. When was the last time you could walk to church? You can if you live in Winnie Brook Estates. There is also a large grocery store located in the town and several service type local businesses. Brooklet has a population of 1,100 and covers approximately 3.1 square miles. It is located on U.S. 80, 7 miles east of Statesboro, GA, home of Georgia Southern University with access to Iterstate-16 less than 7 miles west. The historic City of Savannah is 45 minutes south of Brooklet. (link to Brooklet city site).

Brooklet is home of the Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival. The first festival was held in 1990 and drew over 2,000 people. The festival was organized to finance a beautiful town park lined with benches around a gazebo and fountain. The event has grown each year and now draws between 8,000–10,000 attendees from all over Southeast Georgia.

Another outstanding event that takes place in Brooklet each December is the lighting of the town’s Christmas Tree. The beautifully decorated tree is placed in the gazebo and is celebrated with carol singing, refreshments and gifts for the children.
